You've probably heard the Armin thing a lot ;_; But I guess everyone's saying it now because the cape/scarf/robe thing gives it a slight snk-vibe the first few moments that you look at the drawing;; But I love the color scheme and the textures and the expression ahhhg this is so nice
may i ask the technique you used to make such a fine artwork my dear friend?! some help would be appreciated, i have been looking for this kind of digital coloring/painting for a while i have no idea whats it called but i like it and would really like to learn it. my normal artworks usually have clean outline and the color shading is silky smooth but i am fascinated by this art piece.. the rough painty strokes are amazing well done my friend
Thanks! I actually just use a normal solid brush with Opacity jitter set to Pressure when shading (I used a second brush which you can achieve by tweaking the Brush settings, particularly, the Texture and Dual Brush) . As for the coloring method, in photoshop, I color the whole thing black and white first. Then I create a new layer on top of it with the Blend Mode set to Color and just add the colors that way.
Guys.. please stop pointing out that he looks like Armin. This is /Ren/. Not Armin. It offends the artist when you comment things like that. This artist has been drawing Ren for years now, as well. It's offensive.
Aside from that, this work is absolutely beautiful! I love it! His calm expression whilst holding his sword, looking off into the distance gives a feeling of wonder or pondering. Makes us really curious as to what he's thinking.
Nah I still think Armin is pretty awesome. XD my only problem is that they keep pointing it out that he looks like Armin (I'm assuming it's the shota! Armin of the anime cause the manga Armin looks completely different). I mean come on guys. I've been drawing Ren for years now. '~';
